Érika Martins was the voice of the group Penélope in the hits "Holiday", "Namorinho de Portão", "A Mais Pedida" with the group "Raimundos" and in "Inbetween Days" with the Brazilian super-star Herbert Vianna. She made a version for this music from the group "The Cure", it was the first time the group licensed a version of one of their songs in Portuguese, and the license was granted by Robert Smith, himself. With the group Penélope, Érika recorded 3 albums, two of them released by Sony Music and one by Som Livre. She was also invited to play a special role in the musical projects "Superfantástico", "Baú do Raul" and "Ploc 80..s", all of them released in CD and DVD by Som Livre. With the group Penélope, Érika Martins toured the whole country and played at the Rock in Rio III Festival. She received indications for several important music awards, such as VMB (MTV Brasil), Multishow (as Best Album and Best Singer), TIM, and Latin Grammy as Best Brazilian Rock Album. With the end of the group, Érika Martins decided to go solo. Her first álbum was released by Toca Discos, the Toca do Bandido studio..s, temple of the Brazilian Rock, label, through Warner Music, in September 2009. It was produced by Carlos Eduardo Miranda, Érika's former band fellow at Penélope, Constança Scofield and Tomas Magno. The first single "Sacarina", was at MTV Brasil site for two weeks and received good airplay in many radio stations in the country.
