By far my favorite album by BMTH. And it's not just the best one by bmth, it's my favorite album of all time. This is amazing in every way. Oliver's ability to go from high pitched screams to low gutturals is really cool. I love the At The Gates riffing, and a lot of people say that the production is bad but I think that adds to it all. It actually sounds really good. 10/10, this album is really awesome

It's definitely pure deathcore, lots of other bands during the time used those same At the Gates riffs, BMTH were just early to the party, regardless shit rips

Coming back here to say that this is oddly my comfort album. I believe that Suicide Season, There Is A Hell, and amo are all superior, but even so, the musicianship on display here is awesome and... for some reason I love chilling out to this album. Weird for a deathcore record, I know.

I agree that their albums after this one are much better in terms of songwriting and construction, but there's just something about Count Your Blessings that I adore. The rough production, especially that guitar tone, sends me. The band said that they were young and hungry and just wanted to make the heaviest, most metal album they could, and I think it's that attitude that makes this album so fun. It's Who Gives A Fuck: Let's Be Edgy And Make Badass Shit: The Album... and then Fifteen Fathoms, Counting comes on and hits me right in the feels before Off The Heezay ends this album perfectly. It's very flawed, but even as one of my least favorite BMTH albums, I still adore it lol [2]

An album full of woman-hate and edgy lyrics. This is Bring Me The Horizon's worst record. Ever.

no cap it's one of melodic death metal all time classics in the same row with early in flames

definitely not melodic death metal and not even close to the same row as early in flames. it's good for what it is though.

It's really crazy to think how popular and successful they became, I remember seeing them back in 2007 for gigantour in Australia and they were still relatively unknown at the time. A generous crowd was there but mostly all parted ways/drinking at the bar waiting for the more main acts to play later on since they were an opening act, but apparently my brother said oli jumped into the crowd sometime within the show I guess hoping to be catched/crowdsurfed and no one caught him and he landed facefirst into the ground... ouch! I can't recall seeing that... but anyway how times have changed. I'm happy for their success but I think this first album and suicide season will still personally remain my favorite's of theirs.

Do you still need more recommendations after 2,5 years? :D I see you are still active on last.fm. I'm discovering the old BMTH stuff and it's really good metalcore. I recommend Neaera for example. :) For melodeath I have a spotify playlist with my personal recommendations I could send you.

When they were starting out, their influences included At the Gates, Carcass, Pantera, Metallica, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, Skycamefalling, and Poison the Well. Of those, Oli was a fan of Norma Jean and Skycamefalling while Lee liked Metallica and At the Gates.

Always their best in all honesty. They started going downhill for me after There Is A Hell.

Sempiternal was their last album really worth listening to more than half of the songs. After that they just got so damn boring....

Sempiternal was good but I grew up with bmth being wayyy heavier so i'm more fond of that nostalgia of first listening to em' how I first knew them. To each their own though...if people like the new stuff more power to em'
