After leaking clips of it on Instagram in the studio, Daniel released Valentina a week prior to the release of NEVER ENOUGH. This track shows Daniel’s manipulation side; trying to get a girl in a relationship, Valentina, to cheat on her partner and stay with Daniel. The song also features unorthodox sounds and melodies to Daniel Caesar fans, mostly because of the production and cadence of the music. In terms of the album, the attempts at different styles of music shows Daniel’s struggle for never feeling self-fulfilled, no matter what he attempts.
Daniel said in an interview
“I never do this, but one day sent me a beat he made himself and the first verse or the chorus, and then it just happened.”
