"Future Starts Now" is the first single from Problématique her scrapped debut album. The track was released on August 27, 2021, via Republic Records. Petras first teased the song in a Twitter post in July 2021.
"Future Starts Now" was debuted with a live performance at the Lollapalooza music festival on July 29, 2021 despite the song not yet being officially released. Petras revealed the title of the track in a Twitter post two days prior to her performance.
