In an interview with Live with Kelly and Ryan, Sabrina Carpenter revealed that the song refers to a real-life lawsuit issued against her. The year prior to the release of the song, Carpenter’s former music managers sued the singer, her management and her parents for commissions after she left the company. The song sees Sabrina celebrating her new life after the fallout. The song was made the second single from its parent album, Singular: Act 1 on the same day as its release, November 9, 2018.
