Having listened to over 5000 albums over the years, this is one of my favourite of all time. I am a Russophile: I've taken many courses on Russia and its history, and though my primary focus is on the Cold War, I still find the Tsarist era fascinating. This album is brilliant. Considering that she funded it herself, it is, much like Russia, the product of self-reliance and unending passion and drive, irrespective of the rest of the world's opinion. Sophie Ellis-Bextor has many haters, and I admire her for, rather than merely joining someone else's record label and being the voice for pre-written songs, she instead committed her own money and time (and the opportunity cost of that time) to producing this masterpiece. She has my utmost respect and praise. My favourite tracks are Birth of an Empire, Until the Stars Collide, Runaway Daydreamer, Young Blood, and Wrong Side of the Sun. Overall album rating: 10.0/10.0.

Make a scene is good, but is just pop mainstream, however Wanderlust is a masterpiece!

She's spent too much time making disco, this is very refreshing and her best album.
